He is a double bass player born in Connecticut who studied at Indiana University, here he earned his Bachelor of Music degree. He then earned his Master of Music degree at the Catholic University of America and took further studies in Germany with Professor Franz Ortner at Munich’s Hochschule fur Musik after being awarded a Fulbright scholarship.
He went on to give performances with the Aspen Music Festival Orchestra and Richmond Symphony Orchestra and from 1970 was a member of the US Army Band in Washington D.C. until 1973. In 1973 he became a member of Fort Wayne Philharmonic and remained there until he became a member of the Minnesota Orchestra in 1974. He has since performed in countless shows and gone on several tours with the orchestra.
He is on the Board of Directors of the Twin Cities Musicians Union and also works as a freelance contractor and musician.
In the field of musical education he has been a teacher and musician at the Las Vegas Music Festival for over a decade and was a faculty member at Normandale Community College and the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire before joining the faculty of the MacPhail Center for Music.
