He is a tenor choral singer, conductor and teacher born in Orem, Utah who earned both of his Bachelor of Music in Piano and Master of Music in Choral Conducting at Brigham University. He then earned his doctorate in conducting at the University of Minnesota.
As a singer and/or conductor he has performed with numerous choral ensembles and orchestras that include the Brigham Young University Singers, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra Chorus, the Minnesota Orchestra, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra and the University of Minnesota Men’s Chorus and Concert Choir along with many others. He was also a tenor section leader and apprentice conductor with the Dale Warland Singers.
He has performed at various festivals and choral events throughout the world that include High Plains Festival, Ravinia Festival and in World Symposium on Choral Music in Minneapolis and Sydney, Australia.
He is member of the American Choral Directors Association and from 2015 to 2017 was the President of the American Choral Directors Association-Michigan.
Recordings he has performed on include Christmas with the Dale Warland Singers, Rachmaninoff: Vespers and the Grammy nominated Walden Pond by the Dale Warland Singers.
In the field of musical education he is the Director of Choral Activities and Associate Professor of Music at Michigan Tech. He is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing.
