He is a violinist and composer who graduated magna cum laude from the University of Illinois, where he earned his Master of Music degree.
As a violinist he went on to become concertmaster with the Mozart Camerata and the Associate Concertmaster of the Berkeley Symphony Orchestra, the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra and the Omaha Symphony Orchestra as well as its Fontenelle String Quartet. More recently he has been the Concertmaster of inConcert Sierra and the Auburn Symphony.
Also, he has been first violin with the Houston Symphony Orchestra, the Joffrey Ballet, the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra and the LA Opera.
As a soloist and chamber musician he has performed with the Apollo Arts Ensemble, inConcert Sierra and Music in the Mountains.
As a composer he for games and film he was first prize winner at Hollywood’s So-Cal Cinema Grand Slam Competition for his score for Biting Personalities. Some of the other scores he has written are for the documentary The Killing of Mary Surratt, the film Stealing Time, the games Hacker Evolution and Bloodspeare and the webseries Raven Crest.
Sought after as a recording artist he has worked with countless composers on more than 1000 film scores. Some of the composers are John Barry, Danny Elfman, Jerry Goldsmith, James Horner, James Newton Howard, Lalo Schifrin, John Williams and Hans Zimmer. Some of the artists he has worked and collaborated with include Aerosmith, Natasha Bedingfield,, Faith Hill, Yo Yo Ma, Mannheim Steamroller, Puff Daddy, Frank Sinatra and Barbra Streisand.
Some of the many recordings he has performed on/composed or arranged for include his own Mysts at Foggie Brae: Medieval Soundscapes as well as Painted From Memory by Burt Bacharach and Elvis Costello, Come Rain or Come Shine by Bobby Caldwell, When My Heart Finds Christmas by Harry Connick Jr., Shot Full of Love by Billy Ray Cyrus, The Movie Album: As Time Goes By by Neil Diamond, Two Worlds by Dave Grusin and Lee Ritenour, Christmas 1984 by Mannheim Steamroller, Ricky Martin by Ricky Martin, Todos Los Romances by Luis Miguel, Legacy by Gerry Mulligan, Timepiece by Kenny Rogers, Trumpet Evolution by Arturo Sandoval, Curtis Stigers by Curtis Stigers, Shadows & Light by Wilson Phillips and Who’s Gonna Stand Up? by Neil Young along with compilations and many hundreds of soundtracks.
In the field of musical education he teaches the violin in person or on Skype to intermediate and advanced students and also teaches music theory and composition. He also holds the seminars “A Century of Music in Film” and “Set Up Your Own Home Studio” and was chosen to become one of twelve international composers to participate in the ASCAP Film Composers’ Workshop.
